Jack Dennis, déjà vainqueur de la manche d’ouverture au Brésil, a signé le meilleur temps de la première séance d’essais libres du E-Prix de Mexico. Le pilote Andretti a devancé Pascal Wehrlein et Oliver Rowland. Suivent Maximilian Günther, Taylor Barnard et Nico Müller.
Côté Français, Norman Nato et Jean-Eric Vergne terminent aux 7ème et 9ème rangs.
